A shot from a college recruiting showcase in Collin County, Texas. Games were played in Plano, Frisco, and McKinney.

The light was exquisite this particular morning with a high, thin veil of clouds that acted light a huge softbox. The girls were fun.

Q&A: Scouting/Recruiting high school female athletes???

Question by LaDiablita: Scouting/Recruiting high school female athletes???
I need more information on how universities recruit and scout out student-athletes(who play basketball). What do they look for? How are some ways i can contact some scouts? Should I show them some videos and achievements I’ve recieved? ive already heard of the CPOA organization, and im going to send them my information as soon as possible. Im also planning on joining some leagues and other basketball programs ,such as the AAU, as well as joining other programs that can help me improve my skills/fundementals. PS.Im going to be a junior in the fall, with a 4.5 GPA. I have played basketball since the 4th grade. Basketball is the one sport that im truly passionate about. Im an all around player but i mostly play small foward. I’m 5’9 and im willing to do anything to improve my skill. I plan on obtaining a scholarship through athletics and if not through academics.Any advice, tips, or opinions are welcome. id really appreciate web adresses if you can give any.

e-mail a high school athletes coach for recruiting info?

Question by Boo A: e-mail a high school athletes coach for recruiting info?
Can a fan of football e-mail a recruit’s coach and ask about him and the schools he’s considering or is that against the NCAA guidelines? There would be no direct contact with the player, just an e-mail to the coach and that’s it.

It’s against the rules for the coach to give you that information. That would have to come from the player himself. Plus even if it wasn’t against the rule, the coach prolly wouldn’t tell your anyway. Privacy of the player.

How high school track and field athletes can get scholarships!

How high school track and field athletes can get scholarships!

Athletes are constantly worried about how to get noticed by college coaches so they can be recruited. Most do not understand that they have to be proactive to make this happen. Unless you are one of the top athletes in the nation, you must “DO SOMETHING” to get noticed. You do not have to pay recruiting services thousands of dollars to make this happen. A little time and effort on your part can make it happen.
