I’m a sophomore in high school and play high school soccer, club, and ODP. I’m hoping to be bale to play at the mid-level D1 schools but am not sure how to contact the coaches.Wondering what i should do to contact coaches and when. Also, does going to a lot of college camps help?

What kind of rules govern high school sports recruiting?

Question by Ryan C: What kind of rules govern high school sports recruiting?
I ask because last week at my school… the girl’s varsity soccer team (who had been without a filled roster all year) had to play a game with a complete roster or pay a fine of some sort. To avoid the fine, the athletic director and coach went around the school asking girls who had stayed after for other obligations if they wanted to “be on the team” and that they would “get a free dinner out of it”…

Q&A: i already graduated high school, now how do i get recruited for college soccer?

Question by Shawn: i already graduated high school, now how do i get recruited for college soccer?
I was pretty good in high school, and I do anything it takes to win. But the problem is that I was going to play football, but I’ve decided to switch back to soccer. I want to play anywhere that will take me, but how do I get my name out there?
i will be taking a year off from school though, and have a good high school resume….will that help me out any?

High School Soccer Recruiting.?

Question by BOSTON!: High School Soccer Recruiting.?
What year in Your 4 High School Years is a good year to start Trying to call coaches to come and watch you play.?
Thanks.

Answer by Mike
You want to get noticed by your junior year of high school so coaches will have a full year to see what you can do. You usually get offered scholarships and stuff by the winter or spring of your senior year, even earlier if they want you that bad. If nobody has really contacted you or noticed you by your junior year then I would try calling, otherwise just go out and do your thing because ultimately that’s the only way to get recruited anyway. Play your heart out and make a name for yourself, but most importantly play to win as a team because nobody wants a selfish player.
